The latest...

Time, once again, has gotten the best of me! Sometimes I'll be sitting somewhere, not doing anything, and think, "Man, college is awesome because I never have anything to do!". SIKE! I can't get over how busy I've been lately. Seriously though, just last Thursday I was in NEW YORK CITY marching to Herald's Square to preform in the MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE. You read that right! The Strutter's are a hit! National Television loves us! Surprisingly, NYC was all that I hoped it to be but there's no way I could ever live there permanently. It was so gloomy the entire time! I might have seen the sun 3 times the entire week I was there. Crazy right?! Saturday is our last football game for the year and even though it's bittersweet, I'm pretty ready to be finished with football season. Finding little turf pellets all over your room is only funny after so many times!

Well, since I've been gone for such a good while I'll update you a little quicker with a Top Ten List of the past month or so...

I won $500 dollars off a Secret Rewards Pass to Victoria's Secret!
Josh and I celebrated our two year anniversary!
I spent Thanksgiving in NYC.
I'm doing better than I thought this semester.
I, without any stress, figured out what I want to give to my loved ones for Christmas.
I have a new love for bowling.
My hair can finally touch my collar bones.
My best friend, Hannah, introduced me to multiple and new favorite dishes.
I successfully surprised two of my favorites with myself!
I realized how strong my morals where when I explained to someone that I'll never change because they aren't happy with my personality.

With that, I want you to know that it makes your heart happier when you finally figure out that being your self was completely worth it all along no matter how much a person will try to harp and judge you for just being you. I promise, they want you to change because they are insecure with who they are and are more than likely jealous.

Well, as always, I'll leave you with some fun pictures from my recent endeavors.
Keep it Sassy!!
Oh yeah, and I got a new camera! The Nikon 1! Here's the first shot!

Bows, Bows, Bows!

Okay, as I'm sitting here watching the vice presidential debate and drowning in Paul Ryan's preciousness I've been inspired to add an entry to my little blog! First off, I'm all for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, I don't care if you're a democrat, but don't try to push that voodoo on me. No thank you. Joe Biden is a jerk and I don't think he understands the importance of waiting your turn to speak.

Moving on to more interesting things! Recently I created a "Brenna's Bows" Facebook page and it's grown quicker than I thought! I am up to my eyeballs this week with creating bows, which is great because I can always use a little extra spending money. This weekend is Texas State's Homecoming and we always do a big big/little gift so of course my friend Kirsten and I have been out and about gathering specials treats for our precious little, Katherine. I went home this past weekend to see my sweet family, wonderful boyfriend and to pick up a couple shifts, which was really nice because I was starting to miss them. Bo, the middle child, asked the sweetest girl, Keely,  to homecoming and of course I thought it'd be a great idea to make her mum! It was my first and I thought I did a GREAT job.  Here's a sneak peak of her mum:

Since the two cutie pies are involved with showing livestock I added a pig and a cow in it. I didn't take a picture of the pig because we all know what that looks like but Bo insisted on a black cow so I had to create one:

Can you see the resemblance between this cow and Bo's?
The best sister ever award definitely goes to me this month!

When I decided to take a break from mum-making, my mom convinced me to try on her wedding dress. It was hilarious because I could barely zip it up all the way and the bow on the back cracks me up. Here's a good laugh for ya:

Last week, I decided I didn't like how the living room looked so I decided to redo the entire entertainment area which did WONDERS to our living room. Here's my hard work:

I definitely built that entertainment center.

Sorry this post is so long! I just had a lot to share! I'll leave y'all a pic of two of my four little families:

Until next time, keep it sassy yall!!

I've been a busy B!

Whelp! I kinda lost track of time and almost started to neglect my little blog. Let me speed you up to date on my life as of lately.
These past two weeks have been a busy blur of tests, two and a half hour long practices and bow making! So yes, things have been a bit hectic in my world. Last weekend we played SFA and beat them, which was expected. Then on Monday we started learning a new dance (which is very stressful, especially when you only have two days to perfect it) only to end up being a waste of time considering the fact it rained ALL day on Saturday. Boo, I know. However, I was pretty excited because I knew the dance wouldn't look completely perfect and I didn't want us to be out there looking like fools. So instead, we sat in the stands the entire game in ponchos looking like the nation's largest dance cult. HA!

Josh came down on Friday and to show him how things are done in San Marcos I decided to take him to the Square with my favorite waiter/friend and friends from Los Cucos. Needless to say it was a BLAST. It was my first time to go as well and it was everything I expected it to be.  My mom and the boys came down as well to watch me perform and spend time with me. I'm super excited to eat at the Gristmill today with them. We have started a little tradition, when my Ma comes to town we just HAVE to eat there because it's such a neat restaurant and secretly, she wants to live in that area!

This week is a very laid back week so I'll devote my time to creating my mothers "Wonder Woman" costume, making bows and eating at least once or twice at Cucos. Sounds like a perfect week to me!

OH MY GOSH! I almost forgot...I started a page on FB promoting my bows! Since I don't want a job in San Marcos, I've decided I can share my love for making bows with the city and make a little extra cash as well! So far, so good!

As always, I'll leave a few pictures! Keep it sassy, y'all!

Ma and I at the TXST vs. SFA game. See, she's official!

One of my favorite bows I made for a Strutter to put on her hat!

This would have been the most precious picture ever had he not photobombed it...

Sometimes I wonder...

So this weekend I decided to come home in order to work and attend my grandfather's surprise 70th birthday party. It was really nice to come home and see all the regulars at Vernon's and share with my family all the big things happening right now in my little world. I hadn't seen Josh in two weeks so Saturday night we went over to a friends house for a little get together with friends we hadn't seen in a while, which brings me to my little story... After a few photos from my weekend.

 My family is so beautiful!

My two favorites, Hannah and Kaleigh, at the Sigma Nu/Strutters Steps Mixer. I had never been to a mixer before but they paid for our dinner so everyone went for the free food! It ended up being a blast and I had so much fun dancing and spending time outside of practice with all of my Strutter pretties!

These boys mean the world to me.

I'm just sitting on a cooler visiting with all the girls while the guys are over talking about guns and stuff  when all of the sudden a certain girl interrupts everyone and says to me, "You need to tame that tease". Excuse me? I told her, "I don't need to tame anything because this is Texas and obviously everything is bigger here". It really shocked me because she came out of NO where with that comment. No, she wasn't from Texas and yes she has no idea what big hair is all about.

Exhibit A- Proper Texas Hair.

It's crazy how different San Marcos is than back home because here no one makes a scene about your hair or constantly has something to say about it. I don't get it. Maybe that's another reason why I love it here so much.

Tomorrow, Josh and I will have been together for two years! I can't believe how fast time flies and how lucky I am to have found someone like him.

Until next time- keep it sassy y'all!

Here goes nothing!

Well, I've decided to start a blog y'all! Apparently Facebook, Twitter and Instragram is not enough for me. HA! Anyway, I'm a sophomore at Texas State University in the beautiful San Marcos, Texas! I am a second year member of the world famous Texas State Strutters and a business administration major.
I have two brothers, Bo and Brayton who are just so special to me. I also am addicted to shopping at Hobby Lobby and making arts and crafts. It's very sad, I know.

Big things are happening this year and I felt it was necessary to start a blog to really capture all of it! I am your average southern girl. I can't imagine my life with out pretty hands, pretty feet and BIG hair. I have a boyfriend, Joshua, who is a bio major at Baylor and my absolute best friend. There is never a dull moment with him and who knows, maybe he's the one I'll share my wedding Pinterest board with one day. Okay, until the next post- Keep it sassy, yall!

P.S Props to Stephanie at feelinsofly for telling me to start this!
See, we are precious, I know.

This is our dog, Avery. I'm kinda obsessed with her because she's an angel pup.
